Board of Governors

​The duties of the ICS Board of Governors are to:

  • Guide and oversee the strategic development of the school Recruit the Principal and delegate responsibility for the school's day-to-day administration

  • Establish and approve an annual budget

  • Schedule educational, policy and administrative inspections and ensure that the audit results are abided by

  • Establish and develop relationships with the Principal, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and school staff

  • Regularly communicate with the SICJ, parents, staff and students to ensure that stakeholders are updated on Board priorities, decisions and activities

  • Promote the work of the school and success of students and staff locally and globally

  • Establish and operate sub-committees made up of Board and SLT members, as required:

    • Health, Safety & Security

    • Finance

    • Construction

    • Human Resources

  • Establish and maintain Governor Links with designated staff to ensure familiarity with the strengths and areas for development of particular domains, such as

    • Child Protection, Safeguarding & Wellbeing

    • Inclusion

    • Technology

    • Secondary

    • Primary

Amina Mango

Chair

Amina graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence with a degree in fine arts. She is the founder and CEO of Majdal natural products company that produces and manufactures several brands of natural and organic skin care, EVOO and home cleaning products.

 

Amina has been an ICS parent since her daughter joined in 2001, she graduated in 2015. Her son is currently in his last few years at ICS. Amina has served as a Board member since 2008. Currently she is serving as the chair of the Board of Governors since 2017.

Raid Khawaldeh

Vice Chair

Raed is a business entrepreneur and leader with an engineering background with seasoned international experience. He is the founder of an international group of companies that specialise in technology solutions. His passion is to revolutionize the way enterprises operate and do business. He is also a Board member of the American International school in UAE.

Tony Marcello

Treasurer

Tony graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1989 with a BA (honors) in European Business Studies and German. He is currently an Exective Vice President and Head of Group Treasury for the Arab Bank Group. During his 29-year career in financial services, he worked in the UK, France, Italy, the USA and the Kingdom Jordan.

 

Tony currently serves as the Board’s Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Sub-Committee. Together with his wife Tamara and two children, Tony has been resident in the Kingdom of Jordan since 2010.

Honie Haddad

Secretary

Honie is a mother of five children and a stay-at-home mom.  In more recent years, she has been privileged to volunteer at numerous charitable and humanitarian organisations.  Originally from the US, she is happy to call Jordan her home, having lived here for 22 years.

Basel Manasrah 

Member

Basel has more than 20 years of experience in organization management and business transformation. He is an entrepreneur in real-estate development and business consultancy. Basel is the former CEO of Zain South Sudan and served in several key senior positions within Zain Group in the MENA region. Basel Holds a BA in Marketing, is an alum of London Business School and of Aspen fellow.

Andrew Sheves

Member

Andrew Sheves is an ICS father to his son in his third year at ICS and a risk, crisis and security manager with over 25 years of experience in the commercial sector and in government. He resides in Amman and runs a start-up in the risk management space. Previously, Sheves was a Director at Regester Larkin (now Register Larkin by Deloitte), a specialist crisis management consultancy. He began his career in the British Army where he served from 1991 - 2002. Sheves runs a risk consultancy and is the creator of DCDR.io, a risk management software platform. He operates an online risk management training resource which publishes free tools and resources for those interested in risk management. Andrew was elected to the ICS Board of Governors in November of 2018 for the   2018-2020 term

Laura Haddad

Member

Laura Haddad is an ICS parent to two multicultural kids (Jordanian, American, German) and is the Manager-in-Charge of a parenting magazine, Family Flavours. She volunteers with two local, youth-focused NGOs, Ruwwad Al-Tanmeya, where she engages children in educational activities in order to improve their English language and Atfaluna where she guides families through the healthcare system helping them receive services and information. Laura was elected to the ICS Board of Governors in November of 2018 for the 2018-2020 term.

Carlos Malliaroudakis

Member

Carlos is a Greek citizen born in Lebanon with three children, one of which in Year 13 at ICS.  He has 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, 16 years with InterContinental Hotel Group, where he currently holds a position as the General Manager at InterContinental Amman.  He has worked in six different countries and speaks four languages including Arabic, French, English, and Greek.  Carlos was elected to the ICS Board of Governors in November 2018 for the 2018-2020 term.
