School Principal

Alun was educated at Monmouth School in Wales and  read Pharmacology at Bristol University before training as a science teacher gaining his PGCE from Bristol University in 1997. He has served throughout his career as a Deputy Head Master, Head Master and Principal, as well as a Founding Head Master of Brighton College Al Ain. 

 

Alun relocated to Europe beginning his role as Principal of The British School Warsaw overseeing significant growth and development, which he moved on from before becoming Principal of ICS.

Head of Primary School

Having graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney, with a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Education (Honours), she taught in Sydney before moving abroad to work in international schools in Laos, Thailand, Jordan, and Cuba. She has held varying roles in her schools including Classroom Teacher, Key Stage Coordinator, Whole School Curriculum Coordinator, Deputy Head of Primary and has, for the past nine years, served as the Head of Primary at the International School of Havana, Cuba, before coming to ICS to serve as Primary Headteacher.

Head of Secondary School

A graduate from University College Dublin, Susan qualified as a teacher of Science and Maths. She has two Masters degrees, the first in Medical Molecular Biology and the second in Education, with a specialising in leadership and management. Susan has worked in Education for 25 years and taught in the UK and in China before coming to ICS. In her last role as an Education Development Officer, she worked for the Education Department in Guernsey where she was involved in school improvement and curriculum development.

Abeer Ardekani

HR & Administration Director

A graduate of the University of Jordan with a BA in Business Administration and an MA in Health Care Administration, Abeer worked in the health care sector before shifting her career to be an HR specialist. She wishes to raise the educational bar of the International Community School in Amman, Jordan by appointing the best qualified and experienced members of staff who are able to deliver the right education to our pupils.

Loura Nazzal

Finance & Business Director

A graduate of the University of Jordan with a BA in Business Administration specialising in Accounting and Finance, Loura was appointed as the Finance Manager of ICS and was the founder of this department back in 2007.  Today she is the Finance and Business Director, responsible for school financial matters and other areas related to technology, administration and business.
