Ian graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a Bachelors of Education Honours degree in Mathematics and Teaching. He started his career in the UK state maintained sector, holding a number of teaching, and middle and senior leadership positions, in the North West of the UK. Ian gained his first Headship in 2008 and this year celebrates 10 years of headships. ICS is Ian’s fifth headship role, and his second internationally. Ian holds the UK accredited National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) .
Throughout his career in teaching, Ian has continually honed his leadership skills and retains an interest in international leadership and pedagogy. Always keen to develop further, Ian is now exploring the possibility of an MBA in Leadership.
During his time in leadership Ian has been a lead person for child protection and safeguarding and at ICS he is thes Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school. In this role in the UK, Ian sat on safeguarding panels and supported schools in the implementation of this key policy.
